The Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture is celebrating a new chapter for Columbia’s Agriculture Park with the grand opening of its new Community Welcome Center.
The organization announced the opening in a public Facebook post, inviting residents to join the celebration on Wednesday, August 26, beginning at 4 p.m. The event is taking place at 1751 W Ash Street in Columbia, Missouri.
The new center is designed as a multipurpose community space and will provide visitors with another way to connect with the Agriculture Park and the programs taking place there.
New Mural Brings Art to the Welcome Center
One of the highlights of the new space is a colorful mural created for the Community Welcome Center. The Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture praised the artists from Foldaway Studio for their work and said the mural captures the spirit of the park.
The organization highlighted the color, creativity, and sense of joy brought to the space through the artwork. The mural also reflects the connection between agriculture, community and art that organizers hope visitors will experience at the new center.
