Marshfield High School has released its schedule for welcoming students back for the new academic year, with separate events planned for freshmen and upperclassmen.
Families are being encouraged to check their email accounts for complete details as the first day of school approaches.
Freshman Orientation Set for August 19
Incoming ninth graders will get their first taste of high school life during Freshman Orientation on Wednesday, August 19th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
This event is designed to help new students and their families become familiar with the campus, meet staff members, and understand what to expect before classes officially begin.
Orientation programs like this one often ease the transition from middle school by giving students a chance to walk the halls, find their classrooms, and ask questions in a lower-pressure setting than the first day of school itself.
Upperclassmen Schedule Pickup Organized by Grade Level
The following day, Thursday, August 20th, is reserved for sophomores, juniors, and seniors to handle several important tasks before the school year starts.
The school has staggered pickup times by grade to help manage crowds and keep the process moving smoothly. Seniors will report between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m., juniors from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and sophomores from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
During their assigned window, students will pick up a copy of their class schedule, purchase parking spots for the year, and check out their school-issued Chromebook. Students will also have their school photo taken and receive additional information meant to help them start the year off on solid footing.
Marshfield High School has made clear that either the student or a parent or guardian must be present in order for a schedule to be released. School officials noted that schedules will not be handed out to anyone else, a policy likely meant to protect student privacy and ensure accurate record-keeping.
With classes set to begin soon, school leaders are urging families to stay on top of communications from the district. Email updates are expected to include additional logistics, supply lists, and any last-minute changes to the schedule outlined above.
Parents and students who have questions about orientation, schedule pickup, or other back-to-school logistics are encouraged to reach out directly to Marshfield High School for clarification before the events take place.
